How to install windows 11 on an unsupported PC?

If you're seeing "This PC does not currently meet Windows 11 system requirements" or "The processor is not currently supported for Windows 11,". Proceed with the following steps.

Step 1#

Download Windows 11 ISO

You must first obtain the ISO. This trick does not work with the Windows 11 Install Assistant, does not trigger Windows Update, and does not fool Microsoft's PC Health Check tool, according to our testing.

  • Scroll down to Download Windows 11 Disk Image on this Microsoft page (ISO).
  • Open the Select Download dropdown, select Windows 11, press the Download button,
  • Choose your product language from the Choose one dropdown that appears below, press Confirm,
  • Then click 64-bit Download.

Let's move on to step two while that 5.1GB image downloads.

Step 2#

  1. Edit Windows Registry to bypass the CPU check
  2. Hit Start and type regedit in Windows, then hit enter to start the Registry Editor.
  3. Navigate to Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\Setup\MoSetup. You can do it by pasting the whole address into the box just beneath “File, Edit, View, Favorites, Help” or by drilling down through the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE and System and Setup and MoSetup folders.
  4. In the right pane, right-click and pick New > DWORD (32-bit) Value.
  5. Rename the value  AllowUpgradesWithUnsupportedTPMOrCPU.
  6. Double-click on the newly formed value, and enter 1 into the Value data field. Hit OK and close the registry editor.

Step 3#

Open ISO in Windows Explorer and launch the setup

Is the ISO still downloading? To mount the virtual disc, right-click it and select Open with > Windows Explorer, then double-click the setup file to begin installation.

That's all! If the registry hack was successful, you should soon see a warning message rather than a rejection message, and you should be given the option to install Windows 11 without losing your data.

Just keep in mind that if you go this route, Microsoft reserves the right to withhold security updates.
